Practical info

CRAZY about DYMPHNA, St Dymphna's Church in Geel, from 1 April to 28 August 2022.

Discover the tragic story of Dymphna depicted on eight beautiful, unique panels restored by The Phoebus Foundation. The miraculous paintings have been restored to their former glory so that Van der Weyden's masterly skill can be admired to the full. Get to know the incredible stories, forgotten for centuries, which unfold under layers of dust and dirt. In this exhibition, immerse yourself in the story of Dymphna, her secrets and her influence on mental healthcare in Geel.

This exhibition is organised as part of the Dymphna Days in Geel. Once every five years, in May, the St Dymphna Procession passes through the streets of Geel. Since 2005, the procession has been expanded to include a grand spectacle called GheelaMania.
