Crazy about Dymphna exhibition

31/03/2022

Crazy about Dymphna is organised by The Phoebus Foundation, in St Dymphna's Church in Geel, and runs from 1 April to 28 August 2022. The exhibition tells you about the impressive Saint Dymphna altarpiece, its original layers of paint, the invisible drawings and Van der Weyden's masterly skill.

As part of the Crazy about Dymphna exhibition, The Phoebus Foundation is bringing the monumental Dymphna altarpiece by Goossen Van der Weyden (1505) to St Dymphna's Church in Geel.

Discover Dymphna's tragic story in eight beautiful, unique panels restored by The Phoebus Foundation over a period of three years. The miraculous paintings have been restored to their former glory so that Van der Weyden's masterly skill can be admired to the full. Get to know the extraordinary stories, forgotten for centuries, which unfold under layers of dust and dirt. In this exhibition, immerse yourself in the story of Dymphna, her secrets and her influence on mental healthcare in Geel.*

From 1 April 2022 to 28 August 2022

Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
